So many thoughts cross my mind that I would prefer not be there. I waste so much time focusing on things that I ought not to. God loves us so much that he has literally stepped into our homes (no matter how messy or unlovely they are), and has come down to reason with us on our level (even though we are as dumb as sheep), and made a home with us who seek him in truth. This is Love! So even when my mind strays and I have thoughts I wish I hadn’t, and I focus on cares I shouldn’t, and with every mistake I make- God has me covered! Psalms 91:1 explains to us that those who dwell in the shelter of the most high, will rest in the shadow of the almighty. He’s got you covered! You can rest! Have peace! For his love shelters me and makes me complete. I have no want for anything (Psalm 23:1) for the Lord is my Shepherd! He’s got you covered, hallelujah you are so good to us God. Thank you for loving me, my Savior and my Lord! My prince of peace. I will surely sing of your love forever for your love in unending.
I have an issue with questioning who my future husband will be. I inspect many people who come across my path. I have always been husband focused. I hate this. It is a desire that never meets satisfaction. I believe that everything will work out for my good, even the minor, more pesky challenges that I face. Even this issue I keep having. I believe that God uses this need within me to help me understand that he is my husband. No, I don’t believe it is wrong to remarry and I know I will marry again, but this time I have a new purpose, and that is to please Jesus and have true contentment. Not a life of my own making, but rather of his choosing. As I keep asking, “who is my husband”, I am reminded of the way God showed my heart to me today and revealed to me that he is working on my behalf about diverse things. Then I am once again reminded that God is my husband. What does it mean to call God my husband? It means that he watches out for me. He is faithful to me and is thinking about me. He understands me like no one else can understand me, and he is for me and not against me. He is the best listener. He is the most loyal friend. He is there even when I don’t deserve it. He cherishes me and tells me how much he adores me. He gives me gifts. He is Sovereign and reveals to me that he is in control and that I have to only trust him and obey. God is so Sovereign, when I look upon this I have a deeper need within me met that wants to be submissive. I want to let him lead me. I want to be cared for and loved. I don’t want to be mistreated. God is truly my husband, and I can enjoy this union with him even better than if I was married to a carnal man. Lord, help me forget about this need or put it in its proper place. Amen.
Today I am reflecting on how we are to think of ourselves with sober judgement. We all feel special to some extent, because we are. How can we not be when we were made in God’s image? We are made to reflect God’s glory. Yet, sometimes we only focus on our attributes rather than the bigger picture which is, how the world might view us. As I consider the world’s view of myself, or rather how someone who isn’t biased might view me, I realize that without the vision of God, I look like an ordinary average person. I see my weaknesses and my flaws. I can see the difference between my ideal of myself, and what I am in reality. The truth is that only God can make this unappealing earthen vessel into his master piece.
Also, I realize that only God can help me overcome my every day to day obstacles, the Lord knows I have not been able to do this myself. Only God can justify me. Only God can defend me. Even now it comes to knowledge that all those who would think to form a plot against me, or think evil of me, God is there interceding for me as we speak. Only God knows me as I hope to be, only God is able to truly believe in me. Each person is unique. Each person is without hope, and only God can redeem them. Each person needs God’s mercy, the mercy that only God can provide.
Only God stays near me, even when I fail. I fail all of the time. Only God can love me, even when I am unlovable. Only God can uphold me, and my purpose is for him. Without him I would had already committed suicide years ago, even if I didn’t die, I would be dead already on the inside without him. He truly is the only good being in this life. No, there are good people, lovable, caring souls but no one is perfect, even Jesus said only God is truly good. There just isn’t any purpose in this life, and only God is the reason why I find myself. I was created to know him. I was created to praise him. I was not ever able to be satisfied by anything in this life, except for God. Only God.
It is true that our burdens are too much. We were created to have and enjoy our lives, and our curse was to have to work for it. We were created to have our every need provided for. Rams have indwelt abilities to withstand headbutts, but we do not have an indwelt ability to carry our own burdens. These burdens are too much. When we think about what our burdens cost us, why not cast our cares on Jesus, who died for us? He said, “come to me all you who are burdened and heavy laden, and I will give you rest, cast your cares upon me, because I care for you”. Part of the curse of death is having to carry our burdens alone. These burdens are too much. When we turn to God with our cares, he is able to give us rest for our tired bones. Thank you Lord for relieving my cares and for taking care of everything that concerns me. Please remind us all that you are near, not far away. Remind us that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone, but that we can cast those cares upon you and that as we do you keep us safe. Help us have rest. Amen
God is a good father. We know this in theory, but do we know it in heart? I love how personal God makes things for me to comprehend. He will do this for anyone who seeks to know him and asks him for help. I rely on him to get through my day, as I am weak and he is my strength, and he makes me strong for sure by comforting me and counseling me. It is his faith. We say with our mouths that God will protect us, but do we believe? We sing his praises in the church chair or pew, but do we then walk away and believe he is going to do evil things to us if we make even the slightest mistake? If we truly believe that he is good as we sing about when we praise him, then why are we afraid? The Lord wants to give you a deep, personal revelation of his love. He is not just good to a few, he is good to all, it is the lack of faith that keeps us from seeing it. Lord, open our eyes. Heal our hearts. Give us rest and peace today. Open our eyes so that we can see you. Give us deep penetration today, not because we deserve it, but because you are good. Here is what he told me, and it is true for us all. He said, if you who are evil (yes, all humans have evil in them aka flesh) know how to do good things for your children…… this means that if we consider the most evil person, even they know how to bless a person… so if we who are naturally evil, know how to do good for our children, then how much more will he, GOD, who made us, and who is naturally good and loving, know how to do good things for his children? God said, “I created good.. who do you think first came up with the idea of surprises and blessing a person’s socks off??” So we can praise him for the good he will do, even though we don’t know what the good thing is yet, just because we know that we will be faithful to give us all good things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
What is the essence of salvation? It is that our heavenly Father rescued us from the death we deserved, because he loves us. People say, “if God is really that loving then….” then he would do anything for the salvation of our souls, which includes letting us go through hell fire so that it is truly heaven that we learn to love. A loving God would do what it takes to save us, and that is what he does.
The essence of salvation is that we are loved. We are truly sought after, seen, known, cared about, wanted, taken seriously by and sacrificed for by the one who gave it all for each and every one of us. In a world where we grow accustomed to not having our love needs met, we don’t yet comprehend the fullness of his love. If we only looked for him, and sought him out, we could see just how much, how wide, and deep is his great love.
The essence of salvation is that God is always good, although life sometimes hurts. He will cause all things to work out for the good of those who love him and whom he called. He truly cares about all of his children, and he is good all the time. He is patient, and he has trust because he sees the truth within each of us, that we are like him too. He calls us to love, but first he loved, and taught us to receive his own love.
The essence of salvation is that we finally met the only one who loves our soul, or that is even truly capable. We met the good shepherd who aspires to give us peace and rest, all we have to do is finally trust him and we will find the truth and joy and be glad. In him we can let our hair down and finally be who we are, and with him we are safe. Not only that but he is our provider, and our confidant. He is and will be forever our friend. This is the essence of being saved by Jesus.
Many people associate prospering with having stable finances, or with having loved ones all around them. Though these things can be called prosperity, they are not the same thing as soul prospering. A soul may prosper whether the person is rich or poor. A soul may prosper whether they are loved by many or alone. Soul prospering has nothing to do with our circumstances, or what we have or not have. Though every human being would love to have these types of prosperity, it was not lasting. If your soul prospers based on what is happening around you, then what happens to your soul if circumstances change? Abraham was promised many descendants, yet before he had died he only had two living sons. Yet, he still prospered. Soul prospering comes from the inside out and is based on faith. It is rooted in what God says about you, and what he promises you. Your circumstances can look bleak while someone who isn’t Godly seems to have much prosperity, but as I mentioned, circumstances can change. Even if they never change, one can still have soul prosperity. When a person’s soul prospers, then they have no fear, and they have much joy and peace. It is God’s will that we all prosper, even as our soul prospers. The only way to gain true soul prosperity is to be connected to God, and then the life blood of Jesus flows through our veins giving prosperity to everything. It assures you that you are accepted, loved, and adored. It assures you that God cares about every single thing that concerns you and that he is for you and not against you. It takes all your insecurities away. It changes us from the inside out, where we are free to be ourselves. We can now be naked and unashamed. God wipes all of our tears away. We are known, we are celebrated, and we know without a shadow of a doubt that that will never change. We have a future, and we have a hope, even if it is only for eternity where we will never endure sadness again. Thank you Lord for soul prosperity. Thank you Jesus for dying so that we can live.

my body also will rest secure”
