The Girl Is Asleep

Matthew 9:23 And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, 24 he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him. 25 But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose

When Jesus was called to help this girl who he was told had died, he arrived and immediately spoke out the truth that God had shown him by the holy spirit “stop playing your funeral music, she is asleep” (my paraphrase). His word of truth overcame the shadow of death or what i like to describe the appearance of something that is not real.

When we get sick, we can take the same perspective and in so doing walk in our healing. When we have pain, swelling, a poor prognosis … when we are seeing a shadow of death because by appearances the negative report that Satan has given you is real. Understand that God’s truth trumps that.

We can say to the disease that “his word heals my bones” and to the chronic ulcer “old things have passed away and all things have become new”. Receiving healing is connected to the spoken word or truth. Do this with me, ask God to give you his personal word for you that can be used as your healing “spray” then once he gives it to you, spray away remembering that the symptoms are only a shadow, as Jesus told the people who mourned the dead girl -she is not dead, she is asleep.

Jesus also spit in some dirt and rubbed a blind man’s eyes to give him his healing. This is because what someone needs to get that truth in their heart is unique to them and is about believing and therefore receiving. We already have our healing as Jesus paid the price for our sins and suffered so we no longer have to. You just have to believe. Amen.
